Shining your light imperfectly

This prompt from a post by Xavier Dagba on Instagram was the nudge I needed to continue sharing my money story.
The trajectory of my relationship with 💰 is quite similar to a typical teen romance - first I didn’t care, then I hated money and finally I fell in love with money 😍
However, despite all the work I have done on healing and having a healthy relationship, blocks and complexes remain and show up - I am so grateful to have friends and mentors like Danielle Van De Velde and Elika Tasker who shine the light on them, bringing them to the fore so that I can finally release them.
Most recently: I have come across many female founders who want coaching but don’t want to talk about revenue targets and scaling openly. I have also faced criticism for talking about my own profit plans and growth aspirations openly.
It’s totally fine, in fact amazing if you talk about mission and vision and values and impact but the moment you bring money and scale into the conversation, suddenly you are a dirty, grubby ‘capitalist’ to be ignored and looked down upon. And I have to say it - this type of judgement has only come to me from other women.
I believe that if you are someone who is doing good in the world, who is creating a positive impact, who’s changing people’s lives for the better - it’s your responsibility to grow big - help as many people as possible 🤝
After a recent Masterclass that my Mom attended, she sent me a message - "Congratulations and best wishes, may you move ahead in life with your two arms behind, pulling others along. So proud of you."
This is not for everyone and not everyone wants it - but if you have the ambition, I am there to help you every step of the way! And to do this, we have to think about scale strategically as well as understand how to manage and grow money tactically.
Money is the lifeblood of any business - I cannot help you if you want to ignore what keeps the business alive.
🌟 What gives me glimmers of hope is that now women have started reaching out to me privately to talk about money - how much compensation should they ask for, what salary hike they deserve, how much stake is fair for them to take in a business - because they know I won’t judge - in fact I will applaud them for wanting more money and asking for it!
P.S - I have 2 group business coaching cohorts starting in August: From Idea To Business and The Road to $100K. I also offer 1-1 mentoring and group workshops. If you need a straight-shooting coach who can simplify business for you and help you achieve success, reach out!
